Welcome to Framers Projects.

We hope your families are safe during this crisis.

On Saturday, February 29, 2020, the Historic Ashburn Colored School (HACS) hosted an event at Loudoun School for Advanced Studies (LSAS) to teach about the history of segregated education in Virginia. Speakers included former HACS students, historians, educators, and local leaders. Visitors were able to tour the Historic Ashburn Colored School to explore photographs and stories of segregated education, following the presentations.

Phyllis Randall, Chairperson of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, shared opening remarks. Dr. Wendi Manuel Scott, Professor of History at George Mason University, addressed the complex and enduring context of this historic community institution in her keynote address. A panel of local historians provided diverse perspectives on HACS, past and present.

We look forward to inviting you to future events, as soon as we are through these challenging times.

Take care!

Framers Projects is a 501(c)(3) corporation that was created by a group of faculty and parents of Loudoun School for Advanced Studies (LSAS) students for the purpose of raising funds for student research, social entrepreneurship, and charitable projects in northern Virginia. In early 2017, Framers Projects also began to offer the Lola Jackson Scholorship to students who are interested in attending LSAS but could not afford private school without substantial financial assistance.
